Never learned anything about finances in college. Even when I took business calculus, we learned more about calculus and less about economic theory. I'd imagine if you have to manage money, lines of credit, profit margins and all sorts of things small businesses have to manage(albeit small businesses usually have accountants.), you're better off actually doing, than listen to someone who doesn't.
