A must read for persuasion and influencing others to do what you want. Whether it's for good or bad.
Basically the experiment demonstrated that 2/3 of people are more than likely to follow orders from a person who is deemed to be in authority (doctors, specialists) even if the action itself is to hurt the receiving subject.
Some people just follow the orders because they think they won't get in trouble because someone else told them to do it.
Others think they can get away with it for a while but than realise they have gone to far and then just continue to perform the same action.
