It's because Scott Pressler targets Democrat voters, he talks with them a little bit and then they register from Democrat to Republican. He starts with Democrat talking points (e.g. "poor black kids") that don't fit to other Democrat talking points ("poor aliens"). He is very successful because he teaches whole armies of volunteers to do that.

There once was a strong movement pushing for a white America, Margaret Sanger and other eugenicists. They even stopped the inflow of South and East Europeans because they were not white enough. But by overdoing it they opened the opportunity for the counter movement.
