They're raising the debt ceiling so that later they can collect the new proposed taxes and then balance it back out. We've seen this happen about 78 times throughout history and look where we still are. The rich avoid the taxes, the middle class is shrunk, and the poor get shafted.

The poor get shafted? What's your definition of poor? Below a certain income they don't even pay income taxes. If they have kids they get refunds even though they didn't pay any taxes in the form of the Earned Income Credit. I don't know how free money is "getting shafted."

The debt ceiling would rise regardless due to how fractional reserve banking works. This entire argument is nothing more than a way to agitate people over petty semantics instead of the core problem
