Yeah, that's popular argument, but there was great post about taxes and roads here on poal not so long ago. Basically roads are tiny amount of all taxes and they are built by contractors and not by the government so there wouldn't be any problem for sane society to pay for construction of roads directly to builders and that even would be cheaper because they would skip greedy hands of politicians who take part of that money for their personal needs.
