Yep it's amazing to have it. I will give it to my son or daughter one day.

I'm so proud he served in SS Wiking/Nordland Division.

Norway: 294 Norwegians were reported in the Division on June 22, 1941, in the Nordland Infantry Regiment. According to some, another unit was made up of Norwegian members, the SS Freiwilligen Panzer Grenadier Abteilung, but others state that it was a part of Regiment Nordland, and not independent.

That's a great piece of history right there.

My grandfather passed on his father's officer sabre to my uncle, only for him to sell it at an auction. I can only hope he regrets what he did.
