didnt he post something posing in front of a burned out 'russian' tank?
saw a short vid comparing a russian tanks protection vs ukranians. i dont know what this part is called, its like a cage that deflects rockets and shit before it gets to the hull, anyway, the major visible components on the russian tank are horizontal and on the ukrainian its vertical.
dudes standing in front of a burned out ukrainian tank.
The russkis are using a type of spaced armor to pre- detonate missles from overhead.
yeah i was trying to look it up, thats being called a 'cope cage' by the west which is kind of funny. apparently the russians themselves dont like them because theyre worried it will make it difficult to get out of the tank in a hurry. but i saw a great explanation of why russian tank turrets just plain pop off if hit in the right place, autoloader has shells in a circular pattern under the turret, a good hit in the right place launches it up so the cage will be the least of their worries i reckon.
but i dont think its what i was looking for. americans have it as well on like... APVs and shit, its like they added a cage around the outside, and i know thats to deflect shit. either way, and its demonstratable when you know the right bloody words to look for (i dont) that the ukrainian and russian tank protection is a completely different design, and that dude is standing in front of something definitely not russian
Part of the answer is the expectation of hits: sides or top. The spaced armor will change depending.
