The Chinese retail market was a bubble that was always going to pop. There are videos showing thousands of empty highrise buildings and houseing complexes that are falling apart, even though they were only put up a few years ago, because they were built by crooked contractors who cut corners on materials. Literally the facades are falling off these new buildings, that are empty because nobody wants to live in them. They never should have been built. But the bubble has popped.
