It really doesn't matter that it wasn't spent to "fight climate change", because that is impossible, human activity does not control the climate. It was likely used to sabotage the infrastructure of Western countries, indoctrinate their children into Marxist ideology, etc. This is what they are really doing, the "muh climate" refrain is just a flimsy cover story.
