It's a mechanical watch, not quartz. I'd be lucky to spend less than $300 getting a vintage watch Like this serviced.

Is it wet inside? Does the sapphire screw off? If so I'd let it air out

I don't think so no. Iirc it's early 70's and has never been serviced. If you pick it up and give it the shuffle you can hear how rough it is. So I don't think me opening it would do much except possibly make it stop forever. As it sits it still runs.

I was just curious because the photo looks rather condensate in the saphire

Well I also took it with a potato. I want to say this was before I cleaned it up a little, and hit the crystal with some poly watch.
