This was a slashtard post, and the reeeeeeee of the lefties there going on about how the people who voted to close these loopholes are stoopid is incredible.

But one of the comments there is correct. Don't hold your breath waiting for taxes to be reduced or removed.

Good. If that place burned down with all the worthless crap in it, it'd be a net positive for humanity even with the cloud of toxic chemicals released.

Nobody ever needed anything they shat out.

Edit - The aforementioned salt lick is over here: https://news.slashdot.org/story/25/05/02/2121218/temu-to-stop-selling-goods-from-china-directly-to-us-customers#comments

I had someone give me a couple of T-Shirts they got from Temu. The fabric was unlike anything I'd ever touched, more like weird paper. I didn't wear them, I can't imagine they'd stand up to even a gentle wash cycle.

I ordered a custom item from Taiwan about a month ago. It was completed but when the company tried to ship it, they found out ALL shippers have halted shipping to USA. I just had the item shipped to a friend in Canukistan and it'll take a while longer to get. I know this obviously doesn't work on a mass scale though.
