You can't give it away for free. You can't pay people to eat it. But future plans will make sure that you eat it up. "If you consume the gay meat for a week, you'll have enough credits to be allowed 1/2 a steak."

Was there ever any actual demand? In any emergency, when you would see supermarkets stripped bare, you would always see the vegan section fully stocked. Were these companies being propped up with USAID money? They're definitely pushing an agenda. They want you eating bugs and living in a government supplied cubical until they decide you should die.

There's probably some small demand in select areas, but I'm sure they had outside funding - even if it was quiet funding.
