Back in the beginning of Amazon Prime, the site still had better search and filtering tools that allowed you to find bargains on items that weren't selling or overstocked. I used to use that to get items really cheap and with free Prime 2-day shipping. The best deal I found was on ink cartridges for a Lexmark printer I had back then. The cartridge was listed for $0.01 and with Prime delivery. I scored the remaining three carts for just $0.03 cents with no shipping or tax since they weren't collecting tax back then either. Best ink price ever!
Those tools are long gone, but you can occasionally get lucky if you sort and filter right. I've done well but never as good as $0.03 again.
I quit buying a lot of things from there. Mostly went back to just books that I can't find at the local shops.
Bringing back proper search would also prevent those Chinese sellers from fake purchasing their own items and shipping them to a random address in the US. They do that to clear their excess inventory out of the Amazon warehouses. The sellers could instead lower the price to sell the stuff off.
