Yes, you read that correctly. By decreasing pollution we have increased "global warming". The other side effect that this has had (that they want you to ignore) is that the lower pollution is also part of why storms are larger and more frequent in costal areas.

So they are admitting that clouds reflect light into space, that clouds are generated by "pollution", but they are not putting 2+2 together and realizing that a warmer planet means more clouds, and that it's a feedback loop that keeps the planet at the right temperature?

If you read into it more its a little more complicated. Also, another article I read ages ago said that the US imposed air traffic grounding that happened after 9/11 caused a measurable warming effect due to the lack of aircraft contrails.

Basically, they are saying the sulfur released by the ships burning fuel (most of the big ones run on crude) was making the clouds -more- reflective than they would otherwise be so they had an increased effect of reflecting light and causing a cooling effect.

At the same time though. Yeah, that is basically it.
