The optimus maximus keyboard did this long ago. Apple will hail it as their original innovation.
I know. Apple always does it first, even when everyone else has been doing it for years.

I've never owned an Apple product, but they will probably have a better implementation that is sufficiently slick that competitors will copy it and then the whole market will expect it as a normal feature in a few years.
The rest of the tech market is pretty much asian companies, their only ability is to copy. If there were many smaller hardware companies in the US, we would see more innovation in tech.
