From the post:

>Late in 2023, Robin Davis flew from her home in the Pacific Northwest to spend one weekend in New York City — and she planned to make the most of it. She would meet up with a dear friend for dinner, then beeline to a three-story nightclub on the Lower East Side for drinks and dancing at an ’80s-themed party. Then, they would catch a ride to a boutique hotel in SoHo, where they would trade stories and sleep in. It had all the makings of a perfect New York night — until, Davis said, a thief posing as a club employee drugged her, gleaned her iPhone’s passcode and ripped it from her hands as she was getting into an Uber.

I never did understand people who keep everything on a device. Nothing I have lives on a phone except in transit.

THIS . If mine or any of the family's phones disappear I call the carrier and tell them to brick it. All our phones have the "lost/stolen" phone number on it. If the carrier can brick it before the thieves get it onto a machine to wipe it for reuse there is a good chance they'll have to toss it. ATT, Verizon, and Tmobile "claim" if they brick the EIN it cannot be reflashed and the phone is dead.

Yes. At most, I'll lose a day of pictures because I haven't had time to sync them over.

I guess whatever works for their use case, just don't complain when that use case breaks.

Exactly. I will lose shit but it won't mean the end of my accounts with KikeTech, Inc. And if I lose an email address, fuck it. Factory reset is there for a reason.
