If you ever see an "on the ground" reporter filming, it's your moral duty to get in the background and act in a normal, un-paniced way. Even to the point of wandering up to them and naively asking them what the fuss is about.

You probably won't reach too many, but you might break through the programming of one or two. That's enough. The Psychology that they are using requires that the target is terrified (it's actually psychological terrorism). Interrupting their magic spell while they are casting it can break it out at least weaken it substantially.
