Autonomous machines with the power and discretion to select targets and take lives without human involvement are politically unacceptable, morally repugnant and should be prohibited by international law.
Which is exactly why they’ll come to be. As long as the machines are killing the right targets, our betters will shrug helplessly, say that they are not involved in the process and that nothing can be done.
