UPDATE - Saudi Arabia, the U.S. and several other neighboring states have raised the level of alert for their military forces, according to WSJ report Iran is poised to carry out attacks on both the kingdom and Erbil, Iraq.

I can see Iran driving into Iraq to take Erbil, but moving into Saudi territory would involve pushing through (or around) Basra then across lower Iraq.

Come to think of it, I can see this.

The US has 3 full-time permanent bases in Kuwait, the US Navy 5th Fleet is stationed in Bahrain, and the US has some limited bases in Iraq in which operations could be conducted into Iran from.

Cue the MSM start running all kinds of pro-Saudi propaganda now.
