I used to think that Newsome was the obvious choice for the Dems as a popular vote candidate, but I was looking at it all wrong. The (D) party doesn't pick the candidate most likely to win; they pick the candidate most lucrative to everyone involved in the selection process. That candidate is Big B. He has all the foreign contacts built up over 5 decades of "service" to be oh, so rewarding to the party members, and is a team $$$ player. While B draws breath he will be on the ballot.
