I'm no proponent of Hamas, but it seems the US military industrial complex is the one benefiting from a perpetual state of war because muh profits!

In this case it's both.

Hamas leadership feels the need to expand the fighting for two reasons. 1. To finally kill all the jews (obvs) 2. To make sure the cause regains its momentum

The only way I can envision a perpetual war is for Hamas to get perpetual funding. I wonder where all that money will come from?

Right now they get their funding from Iran, via the billions of dollars the US has put into their coffers.
