Apparently the canary was something Sane badgered the admins for until they put it in, but not the way he wanted it done. (This from a comment of his I read on Voat today)

If that's the history, and if his role was actually as influential as he implied, I can just imagine how Putt feels about the canary.

The site has obviously been abandoned or seized by a unknown party. Putt has not reached out on any other platform about voat. So my geuss is abandoned.

Also, anyone claiming that the problem with deleting accounts is due to a bug is clearly lying. I was able to delete my account. But I did it without announcing I would do so. I simply made one little comment in the thread chmod posted and saw users complaining about not being able to delete their accounts. So I tried deleting mine...it worked.

Point being, if you are unable to delete your account, there is a reason for it. Someone set your account to be that way.

Above: three reports about being unable to delete one's account from before Voat went down. None of them mentioned their intention to delete beforehand. It's a bug. Suggesting a man as busy as Putt would bother individually singling out accounts who want to delete is totally absurd and a desperate attempt to concern troll.

Voat was the shit i came over from the _dumbass when i noticed their mods was acting funny. I don't like calling it out because i hope voat survives but the canary has 1 purpose and its important the voat canary is dead and nobody seems to care
