Not exactly my cup of tea but I only found voat a little over a year ago.

In that time I've seen lots of veterans leave with the same sentiment as AOU and PMBOOBS.

I personally don't trust Puttitout and his new democracy feature he has planned for voat. There definitely is something fucky going on with SBBH or whatever group they claim is SRS from reddit.

Something I can't even look into because Puttitout censored people from going 19 pages further in an accounts history and blamed it on SaneGoat gaming the system.

I reread the announcement after seeing this post and I don't think putt was singling out this site or any other, in fact I think he was pointing at himself and voat in the "clones" statements. He mentioned both voat and gab as clones (of reddit and twitter).

I can see how boobs would feel attacked, but I think it is more projection than actual attack.

And zero chance of a reply from putt. Dude needs to be skyped when his server is down. He doesn't stay online longer than to read and reply to a few of the top comments on his announcements. Just look at his post / comment history.

But having been here for about a month now and still browsing /v/all, it really reminds me of what voat used to be like. A chill group who discussed things, posted interesting things, chatted and basically hung out. Voat lost that feel a long time ago and I didn't realize I missed it until I came here.

Voat is dead in so many ways. There WAS a really dedicated group of core users, tech savvy, and willing to put in the time to curate content, develop the site, CSS, moderate and all that. They are all but gone. Creating this community voting thing for the bots, shills, and last bastion of users just makes no sense. The latest big announcement is still at less than 1k votes. How many users, how much traffic does voat really have anymore that is not an alt right bot or shill?

It's petty in a way, validates Putt's hollow excuses, and makes Voat seem relevant (by asking him to respond on his platform). One of the better things to do when engaged in a battle of will is to let the opponent dig their own hole (and Putt did a great job of that), don't hand them a ladder!

It was a mistake to make it. I was pissed off and should have just let things go and walk away.
