Serious comment here…

There is a lot of truth to this. Of course students from every state are represented at each Ivy League college, but by and large, the acceptance rate intentionally excludes numerous wonderful, brilliant candidates in the name of “diversity.”

Why the student population ends up being …what was it, 40% international, we may never know. Is it because they worship the alter of diversity? Is it because they get to charge more for international? Is it both?

Having gone to one of those schools, I can say they are extremely competitive once you get there; the bug eyed kids have a massive work ethic. I can see why schools like that. But that discounts the fact that many of us that grew up in po-dunk BFE Midwest know how to grind as well…. And that also discounts the fact that these institutions are first and foremost institutions built to educate US - citizens of a nation that want to build and grow our homeland.

Maybe that’s really where the divergence happened…(((they))) got into power and stopped caring about our homeland because it’s not (((their))) homeland.

Giant caveat to everything above: it’s interesting to see where the diversity metrics don’t matter to them, which is the over representation of (((some))).
