From the post:

>A large chemical spill in Ohio has grounded all flights within 4,000 square miles and sparked mass evacuations. Thousands of gallons of nitric acid, a hazardous chemical compound that can irritate eyes, throats and lungs, leaked from a tank at the Austin Powder Red Diamond plant in McArthur on Wednesday morning. The company produces industrial explosives used for construction and mining purposes. It is unclear how the leak started - but thick orange plumes of smoke were seen billowing across the blue sky in the area. An immediate evacuation order has been announced by the Vinton County Sheriff's Office, specifically for Zaleski - a small village in Ohio with a population of 750 locals.

Holy shit, won't it just react with every damn thing until neutralized though?

Yes, but strong concentrated nitric acid (18 molar) emits copious quantities of nitric oxides until it's used up. Crushed limestone - or exposed limestone bedrock - is an excellent neutralizer.

Laughed at the Daily Mail commenters. You guessed it. Conservatives fault.

Nitric acid is nasty stuff

Are the pre-planned riots over? Or did pre-planned chemical spill happen early?

Edit: the last chemical spill happened in Ohio, just a different part. can't. stop. noticing. paterns.

Poor Ohio. Seems like it's one explosion/fire/spill after another.
