Just to note...
This link is fine...the title tells you exactly what the link is for: directions to build a 8088 PC.
But I don't think that orig. 8088's were 3.5 " floppy capable
and it uses a SD card for memory.
so its not really a 8088 ....
Me? If I wanted to get the same I would just run dos 6.1 or win 3.11 .. on a modern PC
Its easy enough to get actual 8088 motherboards, true 8088 motherboard; this guy just got free parts to make a commercial for the manufacturer I guess.
K.
You're nitpicking.
As time marches on, it's going to become ever more difficult to maintain old architectures in a functional state, and while the interest in them is largely academic, I still think it's a good thing that some companies are willing to commit to producing parts that are at least somewhat compatible with old software.
As the video said, it runs Battlezone. That's like... the third best videogame ever made.
Battlezone is the shit. It is especially impressive on the 2600, blew my mind. Really anything Activision in the eighties was amazing, they have fallen so far. R.I.P
