its amazing no one thought to keep the wine barrel whole to create the 1st front loading washing machine...

A concrete-mixer style drum machine probably would be a good idea. But you don't want splinters.

This looks like an event they do where I come from, called flywheels and pullies. Antique machines of all shapes and sizes. I hated going when I was kid. It is much more interesting in my old age.

This stuff is all over the place here, being farm country. I always found the machinery fascinating, but like you - even more so now.

Those Amish in the background, depending on their Ordnung, may not want ANY picture of them to exist. Not saying they'll come over to this basket weaving website and see them, but it could be grounds for ejection depending on their bishop and laws.

Most of the orders I know of here don't say much if someone else gets an accidental picture of them. They simply don't pose for pictures.

It would be almost impossible not to get in an image these days.

Truth. Just would hate to see some crazy bishop who has a tech savy "friend" throw someone out for a dumb reason

There's always an order where the elder tries to go all 699 on them and say they can't even use wheelbarrows. The one I know of that did that kind of found himself without people.
