May be some sort of RF band klystron tube. Doesn't quite fit the typical design features, but it might be a type I'm not familiar with.

It is a cool piece. I don't know if it was for sale or just a display. Well...everything is for sale there if you have the right number, I guess!

I have something like that, not quite as big but it's definitely high power for something. Who knows what it could be good for!

It's the piece you just have on the shelf and when someone asks you what it's for, you just look at it and smile and say "We all knew the risks, but the project got shut down when James got turned into ash..."
