My Uncle had one of these as well as a credit card sized CB/HAM radio a long time ago. He always had some cool radio stuff.

For one thing, it took a coin cell, which was exotic in those days.

Not really, button and coin cells were quite common.

I had the AM radio watch. Quite a cool piece of kit, wish you could still get those.
