How does he play CDs, compact cassette tapes and detect police radar from his phone?

And more importantly, how can he do any of these things without being tracked, paying for service and without agreeing to terms of service?

Good points, though I think the intent was replacing their function with the phone and he directly states he does not have a way to detect radar with his phone (I bet there is an attachment from somewhere for that though).

I'd still rather have separate devices for each task. Phones are jacks of all trades but master none of those trades, including placing and taking phone calls.

Not to mention listen to AM and FM radio. No phone does AM, some will do FM but the iPwn does not do either.

Well, cd, cassette, are converted. Polic RAdar, Waze has police notificaitons, and the new VAL1 and some others, interface with the phone, and the phone shows a map of known police, where the detector sees, then reports to the phone, then to internet, crowd sourced. It also has some logic that if it see the same radar profile at the same place every day, different times, then it has to be a false, door, or etc...so it flags it.

Not something I need, as the data risk is enormous. I'll use my old Val1 without all that shit.

Fm:Broadcastify and most AM and FM stations similcast on the internet.

I had the CD Player, the Radar Detector, The Mach Two Speakers (wish I had not given away, but condo was small), the CB Radio (I think it was exactly like that), the 20 Memory Phone ( one in each bedroom), the calculator. Dad had the answering machine, so did Grandma. Brother had the Tandy 1000, then replaced it with the Next version that was a 286.

Interesting pile of history: Tandy invented the 186 Processor. They released it, and did a planned press release the next week. Intel released the 286 the next day. So no one ever heard about the 186.

I scoured every one of the online catalogs. https://www.radioshackcatalogs.com and make a list of everyhing I ever bought there. It was the amazon of the day. I still have tons of shit, the audio mixers, 16 band home EQ's, some of the car audio eq's, cb radios, scanners, lots of shit.

The bigger picture: Think of all the jobs relating to production, marketing and sales of all those devices that were eliminated between then and now. Then contemplate the related effects AI will have as we move forward.

Yes and no? In context I do get it. Less people were needed for similar output because the technology changed. We can never get away from this. It will always happen even if we don't want it to or the other option is to freeze society in time and deny any future advancement. It sucks (for most people) it it is going to happen if we like it or not.
