Maybe just don't scan random QR codes. That would probably be a good idea. I should make a shit load of QR code stickers to place over other qr codes that just take you to the rick-roll video.

From the post:

>On Friday, the FBI published an alert about packages that arrive without any sender information but include QR codes used to facilitate “financial fraud activities.” The agency says the codes can trick a user into providing their personal or financial information. In other cases, they can dupe the victim into downloading “malicious software that steals data from their phone.”

Remember when you had to scan a QR code to see the menu at a restaurant. Yea, we didn't do that either.

I just left. When they asked why I just said that if the business can't be bothered to print a menu then I can't be bothered to eat there.

I also assume part of why they loved it so much is they could change prices daily/hourly/etc and not just have "static" prices on the menu. Screw that bullshit.

Friend of a friend works on a secure campus that's leased to them by a property manager. Property manager (who constantly tests security with their gated entries and visual monitoring) went around and put surveys on everyone's car with a QR code to scan to go to the survey.

I heard there were some interesting words said to the property manager about "What are you doing" along with many of the people (who work in secured positions) making complaints to their corporate security officers.
