This is a cool article. But the "late stage capitalism" line at the end rings hollow.
I mean, these people are talking huge risks. New service. Somewhat unknown customers and totally unknown "employees". Every single person out there is doing whatever they can to stay on top and be the best, even if they are extremely likely to fall.
But they do it anyway. They do it because it's fun. It's interesting. They do it because the first two or three people to do it right will be fucking millionaires.
And all the while the champagne socialists sneer, mock and destroy what they had nothing to do in the creation of.
This isn't late stage capitalism. The show hasn't even started yet. We're just getting the ovens warmed up.
