The CAPTCHA shit wouldn't be so bad if you weren't training google's self-driving car program.

Hey at least you won't get run down by a google car while on a boat or plane

[–] 1 pt

Yeah I will because I deliberately try to pick things that may look like what it's asking for but aren't. Sometimes it accepts it.

[–] 1 pt

It accepts it easier on some sites but not on others, especially if you are using a proxy or tor.

Ditched those fuckers when they started banning people for being "mean" on other web sites.

What is the alternative?

Unironically, Yandex, because they're a Russian company and won't cooperate with US authorities. Tradeoff is it's Russia spying on you instead.

Almost all email accounts are now tied to you directly. It is now almost impossible to get an email without your name or phone number. Proton WAS a way to get a private email account, but now that's changing. Yandex is the same.

Without a private email account, you cannot create other accounts, such as gab, reddit, etc. without them being tied directly to your physical person. Without the ability to comment privately, the ideas you espouse can come back to haunt you (even if you're ideas are sound). The sad part is, that without the free anonymous exchange of ideas, there will be no evolution of society, and totalitarian systems can be created (see China's social credit system).

This is all basically an end run around the internet, and all those social media companies that are requiring email addresses under the assumption that emails can be private are actually contributing to a system that will be controlling in the future.

Hacker News is full of faggots.

It's flabbergasting to read the comments there because they're smart but blue pilled. They're capable of figuring things out but don't because of the limited scope of sources of information to which they expose themselves.

Midwits, bro. I recently found lobste.rs as a comparable site, and although there are fewer people there, the posts stay on topic and the replies are a lot more reasonable.

At least they acknowledge that it is a problem and seem to be looking for a permanent solution.

Mysterium is a blockchain based VPN. Idk if it's much "better" but you can scramble between decentralized host chains whenever
