We used to run the whole shebang on ST computers where I work. Mainly spreadsheets, CAD and specialized software to interface to our meters. The latter is running to this day (under emulation).

Why? Did he not teach his sons to be self sustaining men? Do his womenfolk not know to find men of good character? Do they need him to continue forever updating to systems he doesn't care for and likely doesn't need to spend the money on just to have them ruin it anyways when he is gone?
