Somebody strapped an honest-to-god sniper rifle to the back of a quadrupedal robot dog.

What a rifle? Any rifle is a sniper rifle. God I hate gun normies.

The round itself is capable of extreme range shots with fairly good accuracy.

Imagine getting picked off by a robot dog that’s over a mile away.

Imagine trying to fight a tyrannical government that can just send these things in

theres gotta be a way to hack these things and turn them back on their masters

We really are on the verge of Terminator now.

[–] 1 pt

That'd be nice, but unlikely. You'd have to get a hold of the interface, which would likely be miles away from your position.

Honest question, what do we do when armies of robots can be controlled by one maniac, normal soldiers have souls to counterbalance maniacs

Kamikaze drones loaded with thermite?

Rc cars with a strong electromagnet maybe, but it'd see you coming

Broadband high wattage transmitters that scan the full spectrum and doesn't activate until detecting any frequency above 600mhz. You can effectively disable and disarm any land drone this way. Granted, you would have to conceal the antenna, but at that high a frequency that should not be an issue.

would this jam its comms or fry electronics? drones could be ai controlled to get around jamming and electrically shielded against emp type attacks. as tech improves, these drones will be increasingly difficult to disable.

It would likely just jam comms, unless you can get it into the 10kw range or higher(risky and a magnet for A10 ammo). An omnidirectional antenna(beam antennae could work, if you know the direction of the drone that would be best as it's harder to triangulate) capable of handling 1500-3000w would be needed, considering the range of those rounds I am leaning towards 3000, some way to detect and isolate the signal frequency(hackrf? Rtlsdr?), and a broadbanded frequency modulator to focus your energy expenditure of a white noise generator. At that point you still have to isolate and disable the drone before your power supply runs dry, and they'll likely have someone within rifle range of it to shoot anyone who attempts to do so manually.

ai controlled

Any gamer worth their salt would be able to fuck it up then if it couldn't phone home.

I predict a future with jammers.

[–] 3 pts

who didnt see that coming. The DOJ will have 2 of these outside every school board meeting in the future.

[–] [deleted] 2 pts

I predict they will make these against international treaties to use in warfare, but governments will use it on their own people with glee. Like CS gas.

thermal imaging doesnt work in the rain right?

The Second Renaissance

Dont worry. Im sure they have shit battery life and make a shit ton of noise. Just build a drone with a spray paint can and spray over the sensors.

The dependence on technology by an idiot military will be its undoing.

Doesn't a robot (of any persuasion) with a rifle make itself a legitimate target? Anyone with a weapon is legitimately a threat, and since we can never be sure the robot has been taken over by hackers, or corrupt police, it's only prudent to operate on the assumption that they are not legit. Nor constitutional. Proactive self-defense, after all, has been legitimized by governments at all levels . . .

They will come for us, faguettes. Just a matter of time.
