Just have a browser with disabled javascript. Most paywalls don't work without it being enabled.

The workaround I use is the "reader view" in iOS. It eliminates about 60% of most paywalls.

Doesn't work in LibreWolf. Just get a page asking to check the box to prove I'm not a bot, but the page is blank with no box to check.
