From Wiki

The Leaf's range on a full charge has been increased gradually from 117 km (73 miles) to 364 km (226 miles) (EPA rated), due to the use of a larger battery pack along with several minor improvements.

And per the story.

Then there is the fact that hilly roads sapped his power faster than level roads, so going through hilly territory could cut his battery life by as much as half.

Based on those two statements, idk why he even tried this trip.

He has a book to sale. Not joking.

Is it titled, "How to be a retard for retards"?

[–] [deleted] 3 pts

For the same reason he bought a Nissan Leaf. He's retarded.

Electric vehicles are perfect for people who love virtue signaling. They have enough range to go from the driveway to the Whole foods parking lot, where you plug it back in. This allows people to notice you are "green".

What more do you need?

[–] 4 pts

Who drives 300 miles just to go to Whole Foods?

What do you call an eBike with dead batteries? Answer: a Bike.

My brand new eBike has just over 120 miles on it, and already had to have the motor replaced! I enjoy riding it, but pushing it home for 6 miles after the batteries suddenly died was demoralizing. And yes, I rode it on the level bits, but it was mostly uphill.

It's only a bike if you can pedal that weight to your destination.

The goal is to keep us confined to a small ( 10 sq mile) living area where everything we need to live comfortable lives is provided. I can't understand how people still can't see it.

[–] 2 pts

A golf cart's range is about 30 miles, so this is about right.

live comfortable lives

You overestimate the benevolence of our overlords.

You overestimate the benevolence of our overlords. No that's the selling point to the sheep who will accept it as long as they get free Starbucks, cheeseburgers and an Xbox. Like the vaccinated they are sheep lead to slaughter.

People who embrace the cusp of technology are iportant to our future.

>Electric cars are not ready for prime time.

People who force everybody to be burdened with the cusp of technology are dangerous.

[–] 2 pts

Electric cars are not "the cusp of technology", we've had them for decades, we just called them "golf carts".

[–] 2 pts

I disagree, golfcarts don't have cloud connected cameras pointed at occupants.

Probably could’ve saved himself 2 hours had he just peddle biked the trip.

So, in summary, the electric vehicle is the Biden-approved perfect solution to America's energy problems...

only thing a electric vehicle would be good for is a commute vehicle under 15 miles to get to work. They should be 500lbs,1 occupant , three wheeled vehicle, with a exchangeable battery
