He didn't do his research. Getting these kinds of loans show how he probably didn't think all of this out. That being said, I was a bit surprised at the F150 towing capacity:

EVs are always a bad idea for any long haul journey. No amount of increased charging infrastructure will fix that. In the high seasons (holidays) you'll see videos of queuing their EVs for hours waiting on a few chargers. You would need charging stations the size of a Buckees to support a nation of long haulers, and people would have to incorporate constant 20 min breaks into their trips.

If you want a second EV to drive locally, go for it. If the electricity rates are good in your area, it might be an okay idea. But don't do it for any environmental bullshit. There is oil in all the plastic parts. There is oil in the tires. There is oil int he vinyl trim. There is a shit ton of petrol products in that car, even if it doesn't consume any. And in 20 years, that Lithium battery could be totally useless and non-recyclable.

I personally wouldn't get an EV, because I hate driving automatic. My truck is a 6spd.

I've always been interested in EV vehicles due to their simplicity and ease of repair. They don't need complex systems in them. But modern EVs are so full of complex, proprietary, tracking computers that a the appeal is lost. And they are expensive to have repaired. Maybe in the future when cities aren't half paved golf carts will make a comeback. They are efficient and simple. And as a bonus they probably don't handle fatties very well.

I install chargers for these fucking things. 1st thing the OE charger for a lighting is $1300 from Ford so if he paid $10k for 2 he got fucked. 2nd if he paid $6k for a panel upgrade at his house he got fucked again. But he did buy a piece of shit truck so I'm sure he is fucking retarded. Also the charger comes with the truck if he bought the extended battery
