  • errors in actual position detection + the time to actually decide where the target is
  • time to decide where to point the laser
  • time to ACTUALLY move the laser to point to the location

the three above is why hypersonic that is steerable is a killer rocket once you go above a certain speed with IRREGULAR path there is no time to track anything

I could never get past this in terminator movies. An advanced AI controlled weapon would hit a kill shot > 90% of the time.

I couldn't but I saw a laser shoot a mosquito out of the air years ago. I'm certain AI can do target acquisition, telemetry, range , atmosphere, multi- targets, and superior accuracy any time of day compared to a human soldier.

It's already a daily activity in China to use lasers for all sorts of things. They use them for cutting trees. The computer determines the branches and each is cut down in a second or two. Havent seen any doing thick trunks yet, but its juts a matter of time. Also, AI machine guns were trialled in Syria. There was footage on Liveleak at the time.
