I am so fucking tired of the "subscription" world. Everything is a fucking subscription now "you will own nothing and we don't give one fuck if you are happy. Keep paying up goy".
I use open-source when I can (I donate to the projects I use). When I can't I look for things like this where I can "buy it once". There is not always an alternative but this list looks like a start at least.
Not sure if this is the best sub. If not, mods or aou, please move it to a better one.
