I'm playing the ER and when the stock was down a few weeks ago I sold puts hard betting it would hit 10s pre ER and turned out I was right. I looks like those puts will expire for me. I bought calls today in case it bumps after earnings. So while I believe in the company, this is more of just playing the volatility leading up to the earnings.

Like said you should at least be getting near 4%. I used to use the AMEX account, but I moved it to E*Trade, they offer a tad higher yield and it works better since it is linked to my brokerage.

You're right. The easiest and safest thing you could do in the mean time is move that money into a high yield account. My AMEX account is currently at 3.8% APY. I changed it years ago when I realized my savings account was only getting me .02 %.
