On Poal (and Phuks, both based on Throat), posts can be “Changed to text” and “Changed to link” after the submission page has been opened.

On Voat, not only do link posts require a tedious, non-intuitive ?linkpost=true parameter, but one can't just switch between link posts and text posts without leaving the submission page.

There’s a bug in Throat code (fixed on poal) that breaks the UI when you switch back and forth though.

And they fixed a bug where it used to not work if you switched from link to text without entering a proper url into the field. I used to send super secret messages that way. ex: link post >> https://AOUiknowyoureadthesekeepupthegreatwork.net >> switch to text >> make a post having nothing to do with AOU

Sadly that channel has been closed but it's for the best.

lol, I member that. But secret messages were lost because the form ignored that field in text post mode.
