manual is superior for off roading
Manual is literally superior for nothing, to the point where they're not used at all.
Is that why every motor sport uses manual trans?
Except high end motorsports use Dogboxes which is not the same and Formula 1 uses semi-auto gearboxes like most luxury cars.
Um...dragsters and funny cars use auto trans, you big tranny
Is that why drag racing separates classes into auto and manual since autos are faster?
You must not drive in the snow, I’ve only had two automatics, boring drive actually.
I don't drive in the snow. I have a 5-spd manual 4WD SUV which I'd love to drive in a blizzard some day. I also have a pickup with automatic.
clearly you don't go shooting from a vehicle
If I did, I'd want a vehicle with an automatic transmission.
How the fuck can you shoot when one hand is continually being used to shift instead of shoot?
You know what you're talking about?
A manual is superior when it comes to the average automatic for reliability and repair cost, shifting in traffic jams is a buzz kill though. My next vehicle will be electric, hope the transmissions are reliable, can't imagine electric transmissions need much gearing.
Electric hahahahahehehewhoa
It currently costs 900 bucks to charge a Tesla in Texas, lol
A manual is superior when it comes to the average automatic for reliability
The only transmission I've ever had a problem with in my entire life was the standard transmission in the car I owned, my only standard tranny car. Eveny automatic transmission in every other car in my lifetime has been problem-free.
Agreed. We need to kill the myth that standard shift is better than automatic. This may once have been true, but it's not true today.
I would disagree. Not having to worry about shifting while descending hills is nice.
LOL. Sarcasm???? Engine braking downhill is one od the best parts of driving a stick.
Engine braking is the only real advantage of standard transmissions.
Brake pads are cheaper than transmissions. Engine breaking puts a lot of strain on your drivetrain.
I know what they say about engine breaking, but most of the time I just put it in neutral and coast. It just feels like it isn't good for the vehicle. Plus brakes are cheap.
Man, I couldn't disagree more. What kind of offroading are you doing?
You will burn clutches in a manual doing what an automatic does offroad and rock crawling.
