There's no reasonable way to turn around in that location.
Learn to read: "And given that the crowd was at the bottom, his best bet, if he really was afraid for his life, was to back up. Not accelerate into the crowd. When he had to get out of there, after they starting attacking him (post plowing), he reversed up the street."
Do you REALLY think he was there to do that when there was a car blocking the way?
I'm not sure what you mean here. Do I think he drove down that street to plow into that? No, I said already, I thought he snapped. He went there to exercise his 1s Amendment rights, the police did nothing to separate the counter-protestors, and they were physically harassed on the way into the park. As soon as the event began, the authorities used the lack of police action as an excuse to shut the event down. They were then harassed on the way out of the park and to their cars. Yeah, I'd be fuming too. Then he gets confronted by a mob blocking the street, he sits there at the top of the hill thinking about it for a bit, then floors it. He snapped.
