Globe models seem to work best for mapping, weather, satellite movement prediction, radio communication, long range ballistics, and seasonal shifting as well as other traits. I think a globe earth is the strongest possibility. I also find all astronauts being in on it flimsy, I think the photographic evidence sufficient, including full earth photos from 2015.
I think flat earth makes sense as a psyop because it has some religious ties, tends to skew towards white midwits, and is a big flashy conspiracy theory that can further damage the reputation of all conspiracies.
I will admit though that big groups that try to defend globe earth use wimpy arguments sometimes that end up baiting on flat earth believers.
mapping
There are accounts of explorers being lost in the Southern “hemisphere” very far away from their reckoning because they were using globe maps. A FE map works perfectly fine on a local scale
satellite movement prediction
Something no one here actually does
radio communication
Works fine on a flat earth. Makes more sense since radio waves travel in a straight line.
long range ballistics
Are fired in straight lines with no factoring in of any curvature whatsoever.
weather
Plotted on a globe, the jet streams look like erratic zigzags. Plotted on the flat earth map they look like a logical ring going around in a circle.
seasons
It makes no sense that the sun would be closer to the earth in winter than summer, but that’s what we are told in the heliocentric model. A flat earth model explains seasons by envisioning the sun traveling in circles above us that get wider or smaller based on the season which would expose different parts of the earth to different amounts of sunlight.
Your point about seasons just alludes to your retardation. During the summer the sun hits the Earth more directly and at a steep angle, the sun's light doesn't spread out as much, that increases the amount of energy hitting any given spot.
This has everything to do with the axial tilt of the Earth. No one posits that the proximity between bodies is the cause of seasons.
Contrary to your point aphelion is in July perihelion is in January.
In short your stupid and thats the reason you fall for stupid shit.
During the summer the sun hits the Earth more directly and at a steep angle, the sun's light doesn't spread out as much, that increases the amount of energy hitting any given spot.
No shit, I know the globetard scripted rationale for this. I’m saying it makes zero sense. You can’t increase the temperature of something when it’s moved much farther away from a heat source, by tilting it. It’s not repeatable; not scientific.
mapping
Don’t know anything about those accounts. I don’t know of any contemporary navigation done based on a flat earth method. Do any nation’s navies use flat earth maps?
satellites
You don’t pay attention to the moon or eclipses? Ok... uh... ever do any astrophotography? You can time the location of the ISS and get shots of it. I suppose it just floats around in a circle for flat earthers?
radios
Honestly, this is too abstract for me to debate effectively.
ballistics
Coriolis effect. I suppose ICBMs also factor in the earth’s curvature, but that isn’t what I’m getting at.
weather
Ocean flows and air flows are both poleward. Which makes sense as the sun hits most directly on the tropics not the poles.
Seasons
Seasons aren’t from the sun being closer. They’re based on the tilt of the earth.
By the way, what lies beyond the edge of the earth in flat earth? Surely, one could traverse Antarctica and find the end right? They wouldn’t just walk out onto the other side of the world and end up heading North again, right?
I know seasons are “based” on the tilt of the earth, supposedly. That’s retarded and makes no sense. You can’t perform an experiment that has something get warmer when taken that much farther away from the heat source just based on the tilt.
No one uses the fake and gay Coriolis effect for any practical reason, at all.
Let’s see your “astrophotography” and images of the ISS. (I’ve seen the ISS without a telescope actually).
