I'm definitely no expert on fuel usage requirements or flight times between the old world and south america. Basically that particular item stuck out to me in a video I watched a cpl years ago as them having some valid points. To summerize they were basically stating that the flight times between europe and africa to south america were too long to foot with flight times from them to north america. It was several years ago, so I don't remember specifics, but do remember thinking, "that's very weird if true". Either way it wasn't enough to convince me the world is indeed flat.
That's the trick. They always offer tidbits which sound plausible but which the average person won't know.
For example, they claim the earth is flat else planes would fly into space without constant pilot correction. As pilots don't constantly correct, the earth is therefore flat.
But this assumes you know nothing of barometric pressure, how altimeters function, and FAA rules for the kollsman window.

Barometric pressure is used to calculate altitude. Altimeters measure pressure. That's why the kolls window is there. This allows for local weather correction. When flying at high altitudes, everyone switches over to 29.92. This is why pilots use true altitude, above ground level, and mean sea level.
When flying at high altitude, everyone has the same error. This ensures vertical aircraft separation, even though no local correction is used.
Which leaves us with atmospheric pressure. Both pilots and auto pilots follow the altimeter. The altimeter follows pressure. Pressure follows altitude.
In other words, all aircraft using an altimeter will automatically compensate for the curvature of the earth. Anyone claiming a plane will constantly fly toward space knows absolutely nothing of basic science.
Why are people who are confirmed ignorant, at best, held high as knowing better than science? That's the FE official position.
