I don't think the US even needs a standing, conventional Army, in the modern day. Air force, sure. You can lob missiles at people you don't like, outside of borders, as an extension of diplomacy. When you start occupying places, that's wrong. I don't suppose I care if you need some sort of special ops to get things done on the ground as long as they leave.
