It's our first kid, so wife want's a hospital birth in case something goes wrong. I did look into home birth with a midwife, she says maybe on number 2.
My wife wants a midwife at what's called a birth center. Its basically a house that a group of midwives own together and have tons of supplies and comfortable spaces to give birth in
We researched those but my wife said no, because it's her first time. Maybe the next few.
I guess the best thing to do is to remember this phrase when they start pushing shit on you -- "contact your malpractice carrier." Just the mention of having to go through that will likely change their tune.
Thank you.
Find midwives that are also nurses and live at or next to a hospital. What you're looking is a simultaneous recognition of two facts:
Pregnancy is not a disease, but a completely natural process.
Nature can fucking kill you.
We ended up actually, definitely, and incontrovertibly needing a C-section, but everything came out really well, and I don't think a birth plan can do any better than producing completely happy and healthy people at the end of a Plan B situation.
Thank you for your reply. Yeah, i've read that c-sections are massively over prescribed, but- that said, they can be a life-saving procedure if you need-need one.

What factors lead to this? I'm always curious at what point is a C-section absolutely necessary? These days it seems like they've turned it into a convenience and make it the rule rather than the exception.
This was going to be my advise, no needles no drugs just as God intended and your child will be normal.
Advise is a verb, advice (noun) is the word to have used in your statement.
