It would be pretty expensive to use tin. What we call tin cans, tin foil, tin roof, etc. Isn't tin.

i think they are steel coated in something. that something could be tin, or plastic, or whatever, but the bulk of it is cheap.

Raw tin sans phthalate lining has an after taste and I recall hearing it's no bueno but but I don't remember the supposed consequence.
