Too much other bad stuff is being orchestrated to consider there is any good will, even a sick and twisted / Malthusiatic, good will. Consider a kid owns an ant farm. His parents take him on vacation and he leaves the farm w a friend. Friend is sadistic. He stops feeding, fries some w a magnifying glas, etc. If you were an ant all you would see is that things have taken a turn for the worst. We may be no more than ants in such a scenario. Maybe overlords are: programmers of the simulation (if this is a sim), aliens, demons, psychopathic humans, etc. Christian dogma speaks of an age of tribulation where evil has much power; one could hardly expect to logically anticipate the moves of an antichrist.
